Abstract In Islam the Koran is the “book of God revealed to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), through the Angel Jibril (Gabriel).” The Koran calls the Torah and the Gospel “guidance and light” (5:44,46), confirming their spiritual value, and exhorts Hebrews and Christians to live them fully in order to be worthy of their names (5:66,68). It is a relationship of confirmation and continuity therefore, characterised at the same time by the particular Koranic assertion that makes the Koran the definitive interpretive key for Islamic believers. The Koran looks at Biblical Tradition with the eyes of Mercy. This gives the ability to recognise in the other elements of truth, goodness, beauty, and above all the possibility of identifying the foundations of deep unity that go beyond historical and geographical differences. This attitude allows dialogue and mutual understanding among peoples, and between Scriptures too. In other words, it is a way to dialogue among the children of Abraham, and to dialogue within the whole spectrum of the Abrahamic Tradition.
