Abstract For some decades medieval Christian Arab literature has come to occupy an increasingly growing place in the field of scholarly editing. Thus we have access to texts dating from the 8th century, as regards the oldest, to the 14th century. There is sometimes, in the whole of this Christian Arab literature, whose authors are Melkites or Copts, eastern or western Syrians, an implicite and mystical sort of ecclesiology bearing the mark of the historical and interreligious context which is proper to it, in particular the relation of all the Arabic speaking ?Churches? with Islamic society and its intellectuals
