| Abstract | Only by moving on from their poisoned and burdened past will the religions seriously undertake to collaborate in the construction of a universal ethics. They will have to examine the foundations of ethical behaviour and build a spirituality which is based on a human and benign ethics. The initial contribution will have to be approached from a position of essential humility, avoiding all pretence to dominance, and accepting a universal equality with all those who long for a common ethical code. Only then will those ethical behaviours flourish which can benefit all, especially those who are most deprived. |
