| Abstract | This paper deals with the concept of self-cultivation within the Confucian tradition. This idea provides a foundation for the understanding of what human nature holds in common. Though cultural traditions are different they are equal because they all share the common root of human nature as the original source for their specific interpretations of human development. It concludes that this commonality of human nature which lies beneath cultural difference can be the foundation for intercultural dialogue. |
