| Abstract | This article studies Islamism in depth and tries, always with due respect to the religious experiences of other communities, to dive in its earliest experience, that is to say,in Muhammad?s experience just as described in the Coran. This will be carried out from the standpoint of Chri-stian fundamental theology. The work bases also on Muhammad?s biography as well as on other sources and considers the question that heads this analysis: Was Muhammad?s experience a superna-tural revelation or can it be subscribed to what Catholics call a natural revelation? In order to reach this target, we propose a simple outline consisting of three points: (1) study on the phenomenology of revelation in the Coran; (2) the Catholic doctrine on natural and supernatural revelation, along with K. Rahner?s theological interpretation of the revelation; (3) analysis of Muhammad?s religious experience. |
