Abstract The article makes an attempt to imagine and construct Chinese Christian identity through musing with Confucius on the basis of the Analects, and Paul, as he appears in his letter to the Galatians. It contends that both Confucius and Paul used their ancestral resources to meet the needs of their societies. It looks on the rule of virtue taught by Confucius that can still be a guide to Chinese identities. It highlights the contributions of Chinese-Christian theology to the universal church.
