| Abstract | The article analyzes the figures of two court physician, Galen and Hua Tao, operating at the end of the second century AD in the two empires linked by the Silk Road, Rome and China. The analysis focuses in particular on similarities and differences in medical practice of the doctors, and their relationship with the imperial power. |
