Abstract After going through the list of activities promoting dialogue between Islam and Christia-nity, according to the spirit and the letter of the declaration Nostra aetate, in Sudan, Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania (with a slight reference to Egypt) – in situations that are even very difficult and with initiatives that start from the academic level to that of community life – the article concludes by revealing “the untiring efforts of the Church in promoting dialogue with our brothers and sisters – with our neighbour – who are Moslems. There is still some diffidence and there is a great deal of work to do to dissipate fear. The activities of fundamentalists-extremists from both sides, Christian and Moslem, are a serious obstacle to progress”. It is also stressed that “what produced abundant fruit was the small efforts, carried out with courage by single Christians. In particular times and situations, the Spirit inspired them”.
