Abstract After explaining the complexity of the terminology applied to Hinduism, the a. enumerates some of the fundamental traits of Hinduism. Illustrating the experience of God in Hindus, the a. emphasizes the great freedom that gave birth to many forms of illumination and spiritualities within Hindu tradition, which considers all religions as diverse equal paths that lead to God. From, within the Hindu tradition, there are different forms of prayer: prayers of petition, socio/centric prayers and cosmo/centric prayers, prayers of cultic veneration accompanied by various forms of worship. The greater part of the verdic prayers are prayers of praise.
