| Abstract | By means of classical axioms, the a. traces a general picture of fundamental principles that are at the base of dialogue in general and ecumenical dialogue in particular. After having underscored the established significance of the Copernican revolution that brought Christ back to the center of relations between the churches, the positive function of diversity for the forming of a unity which is not uniformity is emphasized. To be lively and meaningful, unity must be weed to renewal. A fruitful aspect of methodology of dialogue is suggested by the new type of relationship which is being established among the churches, namely the passage from coexistence. This type of maturation would allow the overcoming of the phenomenon of proselytism which greatly disturbs current relations between the churches. Each church should go to school at the other church: this behavior would allow the attribution of the just weight to may elements of heaveness in the history of divisions. |
