| Abstract | In this paper the a. studies the direct or indirect references to Islam in the document of Vatican II and finds in them a tension between the theological perceptions about revealed Truth and the compulsions of practical dialogue. He notices an absence of ?extra-theological analysis? in the documents of the Council. While reaffirming the missionary task of the Church even to the Muslims, the Council also affirmed a certain special affinity with them which demands dialogue. |
