| Abstract | The a. analyses the historical roots of two movements at work today in the cultural, social and political arena of India, the Hindutva march and the dalit uprising. They continue last century?s forms of India nationalism, one based on Hindu revivalism and the other on rationality. The power of the latter does not so much draw from the educated elites; it rather rests on the new consciousness of Dalits, OBCs and tribals. |
