| Abstract | Prejudice and intolerance can not be tackled effectively if it is not clear that they are also based on ordinary psychological processes, that have to do with our biological nature, with the operating constraints of the cognitive system, with our need to favor our groups and our culture. Understanding these roots somehow ?normal? of the prejudice does not mean accepting it or consider it inevitable, but rather learn to recognize it in many different contexts and be able to develop appropriate intervention strategies, which must take into account the strength of the psychological dynamics on which it is based. |
