| Abstract | Fundamentalism is developed in the Protestant context in the United States in the late nineteenth century. It presented as a religious and identity challenge in reaction to the prevailing process of modernization, indeed in contrast with secularization. In order to understand religious diversity and the risk of prejudice and intolerance today, here It will analyze the historical origins of fundamentalism and the relationship between religion and culture, between fundamentalism and the social context as well as also the religious diversity in Italy. The main goal is to glimpse the possibility of a constructive dialogue between different religious presences. |
