| Abstract | The results of the research on Islam and Welfare in Italy and France belie the image of an Islam in Europe as a monolithic and unchangeable self ? reality. In Europe Muslims ask for an active participation in the screening of social needs and in the definition of social policies. The interviewees? opinions reflect different feelings and show the ethnic mosaic of the Muslims living in Italy and France. The essay particularly analyses the Islam position regarding to the present difficulties of the welfare, how the Islam wants to take part of the European Welfare and how it can became part of the debate on the European identity. |
