| Abstract | This article focuses on a qualitative analysis of biographical interviews with migrant women living in Italy. In particular, this study tries to explore the situation of Muslim women immigrated in Italy from their own point of view. Women migrant narratives enlighten their situation in many domains and from many perspectives: their role in family and society, meaning also their involvement within social networks; their cultural, social and religious belonging; their daily life in Italy, including difficulties in religious practices etc. A central assumption is that sociological analysis should attend to the agency of the persons involved, taking into account what the real migrant women? condition of life and their own understanding and interpretation of their role are. |
