Abstract What relation could the Bible have with human rights? If the Bible is certainly not their direct source, what role could it have played? We try to bring some answer to the question through the laws of the Pentateuch that show with them a closer contact. It is possible to discover that, above the different laws about the poor, the slave or the worker, there is a supreme law that these laws just apply to different circumstances. It is this supreme law that could have played some role in the long development of the human rights.
