| Abstract | The situation of Christians in countries with a Muslim majority is often difficult. Even in states which do not adhere to an integralist ideology, the situation is not simple. Throughout history, conditions have often changed and there has certainly been some tolerance in certain periods and specific contexts that have allowed Christian peoples to survive in Islamic countries and participate in civil life. It is worth considering why Christians are still present in Egypt while they have disappeared from the rest of North Africa; and what elements can support the permanence of these Christian communities today in Islam countries. |
