| Abstract | In preparation of the forthcoming Synod of Bishops, 2018, we present certain results from research carried out by Franco Garelli on the religiousness of young people between 18 and 29 years. The study reveals the acceptance of a now-pluralistic society from a religious point of view, the increase in the number of non-believers, but also of young people who maintain a bond with Catholicism in which they have been educated. Many of them express a severe judgment of the Church, though few retain a negative memory of the religious education received. A new area to explore is that of ?spirituality?: a kind of intermediate area between those who deny God and those who are recognized in a transcendent reality. |
