| Abstract | The intent of the present essay is to show how the memory of the Reformation can be useful for reflecting on its long-term consequences, especially those that were unexpected and unpredictable. In other words, the Reformation made it possible to imagine another world of meanings to attribute to Christianity. This article highlights how Christianity in the Reformation and afterward, can no longer think of or represent itself as a definitive word, defined once and for all by those who hold the power and knowledge necessary to interpret it. |
