| Abstract | In this article the Author studies the meaning of ?Prophet? in the Muslim and the total Biblical tradition and shows the root of the differcence in the understanding of this role in Islam and in the Biblical tradition of the ?suffering prophets?, which results in a different understanding of the nature of God and God's revelation: God's transcendence need not mean that God is only law-giver and teacher. God transcends all limitations by engaging with sinful humanity through the sufferings of Jesus. |
