| Abstract | The article is an overview of the sociological interpretation of the category "minorities". It focuses on the (inter)links and (inter)relations between religion, ethnicity and languages, pointing out the role they play in the conceptualization of auto-perception and etero-perception of the minorities. The relationships between majority and minority(ies), taking into account and addressing the sense of belonging to a certain group, the experiences shared by the members of a particular community and the so-called "symbolic identification" that is composed of images from mass communications media, are here discussed. |
