Abstract | The author studies here the meaning of conversion according to the understanding of Lonergan and Gelpi, and from this perspective he analyses the conversion movement in Chotanagpur, showing how it covers five layers: the affective, intellectual, personal-moral, socio-political and religious. He shows how the five layers are interrelated and complete one another and how the blocks placed on the conversion movements are a denial of human rights of self-determination. By the same token he also shows how any ?forced conversion? would be a violation of human rights. |
