| Abstract | In this article we examine the Chinese Catholic Community in Italy, a religious group that is still unexplored in the sociological literature. The research’s first aim is to ‘map’ the Chinese Catholic communities in Italy, rebuilding their historical trajectory and indicating their distribution in the Italian peninsula. Secondly, we provide data on the Chinese clergy, religious and believers, and describe main everyday activities of these religious communities abroad. Finally, we study the forms of settlement of Chinese Catholics in the new Italian context, and the transnational ties of these communities with the church in homeland. |
