Abstract It is challenging to write God Realization in Buddhism. However, the a. has made an extensive research on the theme by using Mahāyāna literature where there are strands of philosophical speculation on the Absolute Reality which roughly correspond to theological understandings of God within theistic religions. He articulates that love, kindness, compassion, empathy, and the rest, are constitutive of Buddhahood, they are its defining characterictics, and ultimately do not differ from the Truth Body, Buddha Mind, Buddha Nature, Emptiness, or Absolute Reality itself. To become a Buddha a person must realize the truth set forth by the historical Buddha. One must awaken to the true nature of things, one's own actual identity, which is a fully enlightened Buddha.
