| Abstract | The a. articulates that St. Francis Xavier became the Proto-missionary of Jesuit Society, spending the last decade of his life in Asia, setting a standard of evangelization and spiritual fervor. Francis Xavier used to go up and down the streets and squares with a bell in his hand, crying to the children and others to come to the instruction. He began by singing the lessons and then made the children sing them so that they might become the better fixed in their memories. Whenever he arrived in a new mission area, he used to compose a catechism. He even trained the children to proclaim the creed. He used to send the children to the homes of the ill and had them gather the family and neighbors for prayer. |
