Abstract Among the Jewish voices speaking to the reality of Auschwitz, there are many moving texts. Among them there are in particultar texts which ask about the existence and understanding of God after the Shoah. From the ?canon? of these Jewish voices, the essay discusses in detail the thinking of Hans Jonas and Emmanuel L?vinas; in addition, David R. Blumenthal's ?outsider position? is presented. The analysis of the Jewish attempts to think God after the Shoah reveals the difference between Jews and Christians, and at the same time it shows a proximity within the dissent.
