Abstract | The author of this article attempts to approach in an historical fashion the following question: What is the origin and extension of the Chistian proposition, which proclaims Jesus of Nazareth as a unique, universal and definitive Savior? To answer this, the author takes a retrospective path, starting with pre-Nicene Christianity and then delving into the New Testament, beginning with the more recent documents and later continuing on from the pre-Pauline texts and arriving at Jesus himself. In this way, Christianity's proposition of university is shown to be present from its origins, and finds its roots in Jesus of Nazareth himself. Then the author goes on to a systematic elaboration of data, insisting upon the theological relevance of linking Christology and Creation, as well as upon the necessity of a correct comprehension of the hypostatic union, in order to affirm the unique, universal and definitive significance of the historical revelation of the Son of God. |
