| Abstract | Following a detailed overview of the historical and geo-political background, the article focuses on the Middle-east as a crucial strategic area for interreligious dialogue. The Author highlights the complexity of the Middle-east as a mosaic of deeply interlinked religions and underlines the multifaceted and manifold expression of Christianity and Islam, both far from being monolithic. He gets down to the details of the minority Christian presence in the Middle-east and of her juridical status in the different political entities with a special focus on the critical issue of human rights and the efforts towards interreligious dialogue as promoted by the Holy Sea and by numerous national and international institutions and organizations as well. |
