Abstract Logos (thought, word, speech ? dialogue too, see Charles Taylor) requires some normative conditions, without which there isn't communication (Karl-Otto Apel) nor significance (Aristotle) in whatever culture. This implies some minimal conditions of respect for others and thus logos is incompatible with violence (Robert Spaemann). Just in relationship with the normative conditions of human reasoning, the author focuses on the aporia of relativism that, in contrast to wath some claim, is unable to justify a respect ethics of pluralism. On the contrary, in the personalistic perspective there are the premises of the recognition of human dignity and of a right understood multiculturalism.
