| Abstract | The following is the text of a public lecture given by Professor Dr Zhuo Xinping, Director of the Institute of World Religions, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Beijing, to mark the opening of a Conference on ?Religion and Society in China and Europe? held at the University of Birmingham, 6-8 September 1999. It was the first such meeting between Chinese intellectuals and European theologians to take place outside China. |
